Dr. Vivian Fu received her PhD in Biomedical Science from UC San Diego in April 2020. Her doctoral research identified the protein target of a small molecule inhibitor using a combination of bio-orthogonal, genetic, and cell-based approaches; and spanned the fields of chemical biology, phospholipid dynamics, and cell growth signaling. As a 2020-2021 USC-AbbVie Fellow in Global Medical Communications, Vivian led publication strategy in Aesthetics before officially joining AbbVie as a full-time Publications Manager in April 2021, where she also began covering Women’s Health. Vivian was recently promoted to Senior Manager of Global Scientific Publications and is excited to continue the dual application of her technical background in biomedical research and her passion for creative, engaging, and meaningful scientific communication strategies. In addition to being a woman in science, she is a talented yogi and is perfecting the art of creating mouth-watering vegan dishes.   Vivian will speak about her leadership in medical communications, her experience as a woman in industry, and the challenges she encountered during her career path.
